A busy Wednesday

Our on duty controller Linda P expressed her thanks for the work put in by our riders today.

Rider Dave H completed a donor breast milk relay from the Midlands to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Glangwlli Hospital.  A long run done with willingness and efficiency on a bit of a horrible day. Thank you Dave.

Rider Mathew L had a late night with an urgent call taking him all the way to Haverfordwest then back to Aberystwyth with crucial malaria medication. He’s still out there as I write this ….. another Blood Bike hero. Thank you Mathew.

Rider Pete P taking on the high winds on Anglesey to do our North West routine run. He’s still on duty waiting for the next call.  Thank you Pete.

And Andrew P, zooming all around the Wrexham area, ensuring samples are picked up and delivered to Maelor path lab in order for analysis to be done and informed treatments put in place.  Thank you Andrew.

Also a big thank you to Paul H. Working behind the scenes to ensure our Blood Bike riders are assessed and come up to high standard required in order to join the other heroes riding across Wales for Blood Bikes.

Not forgetting Linda herself who, acting as a contact point for NHS Wales and the riders themselves coordinated all of the above.  It’s worth mentioning that every single one of our members, whether they be a controller, rider, assessor, fund raiser, admin or trainer is a volunteer.
