Rarely do we meet the people we help, but this weekend one of our duty riders, Mike, was approached by a gent outside a hospital. The gentleman was taking a bit of fresh air and was interested in the bike and the work that we do. Following a discussion he surmised that one of the samples Mike had just collected was for his wife who was currently being treated.
After 10 years battling cancer they had been told it was now terminal. The gentlemen was so proud of her strength and full of praise for Blood Bikes. It just puts your day into perspective and shows how important it is to help, even in a little way.
We wish them both the very best they can have.
