It’s nice to be appreciated

One of our controllers took a call earlier this week from Mr Paget, a consultant at Glan Glywd hospital Intensive Treatment Unit.

Earlier in the evening Linda Pearcey had organised an urgent relay to take samples to Liverpool University Hospital. Our North West rider, Paul Kennedy, picked up the samples from Ysbyty Glan Clwyd to do the first leg of the relay.  He met up with the Merseyside & Cheshire rider, Stuart Ross, at South Chester Holiday Inn who then continued the journey to Liverpool.

Mr Paget called to say a huge thank you to Blood Bikes. He was extremely impressed with the way we responded to his request and coordinated the relay.

We are all volunteers but it is very rewarding to be acknowledged for the work we do and know that what we are doing is appreciated across the NHS.

A huge thank you to Linda, Paul and Stuart for doing a fabulous job.
