Morning milk delivery

Husband and wife team Pete (rider) and Linda (controller) had an early start this morning.

A mother had been taken into Ysbyty Gwynedd hospital last night but her new baby had been left at home with dad in Pwllheli. By this morning the breast fed baby was quite hungry as it had been without its normal feed all night and the situation was a little fraught. The hospital contacted Blood Bikes Wales to see what we could do. Pete visited the hospital to pick up the expressed milk and delivered it to dad at home. He was then able to carry on with his routine run at the usual time.

Mum happy, baby and dad VERY happy. Our volunteers don’t usually meet with our ‘customers’ but that’s how it worked out on this occasion so Linda and Pete were both happy too. #ItsWhatWeDo
